U.S. Trying to Block Calif. on Emissions

The Bush administration has conducted a concerted, behind-the-scenes lobbying campaign to try to generate opposition to California's request to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from cars and trucks, according to documents obtained by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

Gee, and this would be contrary to the speech from Bush I watched this week. Shocking!

Comment:
Yeah and it's too bad climate experts don't agree with a polysci major huh? Wonder why? Could it be he's wrong? That's what I know. I know it from hanging out with experts on the subject. The clock is ticking and we are cooking in our own stew of CO2 and particulates. That's the real push/pull.

Climate Consensus Treaty

In honor of an unlikely candidate in my circles, former Reagan SOS George Schultz, I propose a San Francisco Protocol on climate change. Not a bad piece. Never mind Kyoto, the name alone is synonymous with failure and overused by wingnuts. We need a new treaty, one that works to curb greenhouse gases because we live on a ball spinning in the wilderness of space. There is nowhere to go, and roasting like a chestnut, isn't much fun, as last week in California proved all too well. Let's get busy!
